Local artist unveils painting of the Pope
Artist Daniel Swanger unveiled his painting, “Pope Francis With Processional Cross” on April 9 during the meeting of the One in Christ Fellowship meeting, which Jerry and Angela Ganns founded and now host every second Saturday at Wally’s Restaurant in East Ridge.
As a show of support, the painting, commissioned by the Ganns, will be donated to Hans and Nancy Humberger, physical therapists and consultants who run Humberger Physical Therapy Clinic. The painting will hang in the clinic.
One in Christ has been meeting since last year and is an attempt at Christian unity, a sentiment that Pope Francis has echoed.
Swanger sells local portrait sketches and Scenic City-focused oils at Chattanooga Market, through Charles Saatchi online and other art dealers in Wisconsin and Tennessee, including AVA Gallery on Frazier Avenue.
