ZZ Top is postponing several dates on its tour, including a May 3 show at the Tivoli Theatre, after bass player Dusty Hill fractured his shoulder before a show last week.

The rock band said in a statement Wednesday that concert dates through May 7- a total of 10 shows – are postponed as Hill recovers from his injury. The shows will be rescheduled, band officials said in a news release, but there are no set dates yet.

ZZ Top’s manager, Carl Stubner, said the band was getting ready to go on stage at the Lone Star Events Center in Lubbock, Texas, last Thursday when Hill tripped on a step. The band had to cancel the show that night.

After May 7, the band has a U.S. show scheduled for May 28 in Frisco, Texas, a suburb of Dallas, then picks up again on June 23 with a concert in England and ends on July 19 with a show in Sweden.

Hill thanked his supporters for the good wishes he’s received and said he was determined to recover soon.

“My physicians told me that this type of injury is usually associated with contact sports,” he said in the news release. “I’m not sure bass-playing qualifies as such but they’re doing their best to get me back in the game as soon as possible.”
