What: Outdoor Expo and Gear SwapWhen: 10 a.m. SaturdayWhere: Gear Closet, 535 Cherokee Blvd.

The ninth annual Outdoor Expo and Gear Swap is set for Saturday morning at the Gear Closet on Cherokee Boulevard.

Vendors from Rock/Creek and other outdoor retailers will be on site, as well as local families hoping to sell outdoor gear and apparel.

“Last year was our first year hosting it and it went really well,” said Mary Beth Sutton, executive director of Caribbean SEA and TenneSEA, two organizations benefited by the Gear Closet that raise funds for local children’s programs. “Rock/Creek came and sold out in a couple of hours. They had great deals and people just swamped them.”

Live music and a food truck will be on site, and there will be activities for children at the pet-friendly event that is expected to have the feel of a community yard sale and recreation expo.
