A pair of University of Tennessee at Chattanooga student-athletes have been dismissed after incidents that led to arrests over the weekend.
Former basketball player Duke Ethridge, who had decided to join the football team this fall after completing his basketball eligibility, was booked Monday on charges of possession of a handgun while under the influence, assault, resisting arrest or obstruction of legal process, evading arrest, public intoxication, possessing an alcoholic beverage on school property and carrying weapons on school property.
Basketball player Traevis Graham was arrested Saturday morning and charged with aggravated assault after a party in East Ridge.
Ethridge was working to earn a spot on the football team as a tight end after playing two seasons for the Mocs, averaging 6.5 points and 3.5 rebounds in 62 career games. The 6-foot-6, 225-pounder was projected to play tight end for the football Mocs this fall.
Graham was not on scholarship after joining the Mocs’ program before the 2015 season. The 6-foot-7 forward had originally signed with Florida Atlantic out of high school, but backed out in August of 2014 and decided to play at Daytona State, a junior college, averaging 8.3 points and 4.6 rebounds.
