Mountain City Club’s Darius “Britches” Matthews awaits a pitch at a previous match between teams in the Tennessee Association of Vintage Base Ball.
With the season winding down, there are only two chances left to see the Lightfoot and Mountain City clubs play at home.
Both clubs are atop the standings with identical records of 7-1.
The Saturday, Aug. 6, double header has the Lightfoot Club playing Stewart’s Creek Scouts (6-2) at noon and Mountain City club taking on the Travellers Club of Brentwood (7-1) at 2:30 p.m.
Spectators are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets as there is no bleacher seating.
