Families were able to explore the wild and wonderful world of water at Tennessee American Water’s “Water Fest” earlier this month.

TAW President Valoria Armstrong estimates between 600 to 700 people attended the festival, which featured plant tours and children’s activities.

“It brought the community together,” said city of Chattanooga employee Rosetta, whose children, Khloe, 2, and Kenyon, 4, both enjoyed playing in the sprinkler system.

Community partners like the Chattanooga Fire Department, Tennessee Aquarium and Creative Discovery Museum were on-site, and hot dogs, soft drinks and prizes were presented to guests.

“Water Fest gave our employees the opportunity to display what we do on a daily basis,” Armstrong said. “Those touring [the plant] saw the treatment process from the Tennessee River to the plant to the tap.
