KNOXVILLE – Jordan Bowden grew up in Knoxville dreaming about playing college basketball for his hometown school, and he waited until the 11th hour for the opportunity to play at Tennessee.

It has taken less time for him to make an impact.

Bowden quickly began living out his dream and became a freshman starter for the Volunteers.

In his first career start, he scored 14 points against Appalachian State, and in Tuesday’s win against Presbyterian, he scored 21 points, including 11 in a row during a 23-0 second-half run, and made five 3-pointers.

“I always dreamed about it,” Bowden said after the win. “I didn’t think it would always come true, but I just kept working every day and the opportunity came.”
