With the new year just two weeks away, the Tennessee Watercolor Society wants you to “Spring into the New Year!”
Beginning in January, 20 watercolorists who live in the Chattanooga area will be part of a two-month-long exhibition at the North River Civic Center. Many of the artists have won awards in state, national and international contests, according to a news release from the society, which is celebrating its 46th year in 2017.
The exhibition opens Jan. 15 and runs through March 31.
The artists can bring any painting they wish and the selections include watercolors or acrylics on paper or Yupo synthetic paper and presented under glass or Plexiglas with mats and frames. Those who come to the exhibition can vote in a People’s Choice contest, with results announced in March.
