Matt McCall’s Mocs work on pressure-situation free throws

It seemed like an exercise of futility.

At the end of Tuesday’s basketball practice at McKenzie Arena, University of Tennessee at Chattanooga men’s coach Matt McCall yelled out the challenge.

The team had to make six free throws in a row, with three players making two each. Once they missed, they had to start all over.

On multiple occasions the Mocs made five straight, only to miss the sixth. At one point, with only two makes remaining, assistant coach Jacob Kurtz tried to distract center Justin Tuoyo.

“Justin! JUSTIN!!” said Kurtz, who played at Florida while McCall was coaching there. “TUOYO!!!!”
