National signing day giveth to a college football program, but it can just as quickly taketh away.
A day after the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga added a commitment in Nashville athlete Elijah Pankey, Farragut defensive end Cole Strange flipped his pledge from the Mocs to Football Bowl Subdivision member Air Force.
The 6-foot-4, 250-pound two-star prospect had 96 tackles, 18 for loss and 7.5 sacks and broke up five passes for the Admirals during the 2015 season, when they won 10 games before falling to Rhea County in the second round of the Class 5A playoffs.
He is the second former UTC commitment to switch to a FBS program, as Morristown West athlete DeAndre Delaney changed to Wake Forest in early December. Delaney had 2,240 yards of total offense and 26 touchdowns in his senior season.
