Baylor School and Baylor Swim Club athlete Trey Freeman went from winning two individual events and anchoring a first-place relay Friday and Saturday in the high school state tournament in Nashville to qualifying Sunday for the U.S. Olympic trials in the 200-meter freestyle. His 1:51.00 long-course time at the Centennial Sportsplex gave him three qualifying times for the June 26-July 3 trials in Omaha, Neb. He had qualified for the 1500- and 400-meter freestyles at the Speedo Junior National Championships last summer. Freeman’s 1:36.70 finish in the 200-yard free in the high school meet set a TISCA state record and was the fastest ever for a 15-year-old male.
