“Come have a really good time and donate to Chattanooga Cares,” said Joanna Hill, a member of the committee.
St. Elmo UMC is part of the Reconciling Ministries Network, an organization dedicated to working toward the inclusion of all sexual orientations and gender identities in the life of the United Methodist Church. St. Elmo UMC has many gay members in its congregation, she added.
“The cause is very tender in their hearts,” Hill said, as to why the church does an annual fundraiser for Chattanooga Cares.
