GREENVILLE, S.C. – The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga men’s basketball team had an uninspired performance Saturday afternoon against Furman.
The Mocs received the results one should expect from that sort of effort.
UTC had a second half riddled with turnovers, poor shooting and questionable defense in what turned into a 70-55 Southern Conference loss to the Paladins in front of 1,651 at Timmons Arena. The loss ended an eight-game win streak, but the Mocs have a quick turnaround with a game Monday night at Wofford in nearby Spartanburg, S.C.
The Mocs (13-3, 2-1) shot 43 percent from the field and were 9-for-24 in the second half, which included 13 of their 20 turnovers. Johnathan Burroughs-Cook had 13 points and was the only UTC player scoring in double figures. Dee Oldham had nine points and six rebounds, while Greg Pryor scored eight points.
