It’s decision day at Alabama.
Several Crimson Tide football players will participate in a news conference this afternoon in Tuscaloosa, where they will announce whether or not they are forgoing their senior seasons for the NFL draft. Those who have yet to publicize their intentions are tailback Derrick Henry, tight end O.J. Howard, defensive linemen A’Shawn Robinson and Jonathan Allen and inside linebacker Reuben Foster.
ESPN reported Thursday that Henry has decided to leave, which would come as no shock given the 6-foot-3, 242-pounder set a Southeastern Conference single-season rushing record with 2,219 yards, won the Heisman Trophy and ran for 158 yards and three touchdowns in Monday’s 45-40 win over Clemson for the national championship.
Junior safety Eddie Jackson, who intercepted Clemson quarterback DeShaun Watson and was the Defensive MVP on Monday, announced Thursday that he would be returning for his senior season.
“It feels good to be coming back with my brothers for another year,” Jackson posted on Twitter. “Let’s get it.”
