Darius Graves paces Arts & Sciences’ rally past Howard

The Arts & Sciences Patriots did exactly what patriots do and defended their home court Friday night against the enemy.

Arts & Sciences went head to head against the Howard Hustlin’ Tigers in a nondistrict game that could have gone either way with numerous lead changes. A blast of energy in the fourth quarter was just enough to lead the Patriots to victory, 56-54.

Darius Graves seemed to have the magic touch in the fourth quarter for CSAS. He left the game after the first quarter due to foul trouble and did not return full-time until the second half. He scored 17 points, 10 of those coming in the final quarter.

“He is confident,” said Arts & Sciences coach Mark Dragoo. “He is the leader of the team, and when it comes down to taking that shot, he’s going to get the shot in.”

Another big factor for CSAS was the rebounding performance from Todd Lansden. Lansden contributed five of his eight points in the final quarter and had 15 rebounds for the game.
