SMOKIES 7, LOOKOUTS 6

Monday’s recap: An RBI bunt by No. 9 batter Trey Martin in the bottom of the sixth inning held up as the game-winning hit for Tennessee. Martin was 2-for-4 and also scored a run for the Smokies, who got two hits apiece also from Daniel Lockhart, Victor Caratini and Billy McKinney. Caratini’s three-run home run in the fifth put the Smokies ahead for the first time, after they trailed 3-0 and 4-3. Chattanooga scored in the second on Niko Goodrum’s single after a Leonardo Reginatto double and added two runs in the third on three singles and a balk. Stuart Turner’s two-run homer in the sixth got the Lookouts even at 6-6.

Next up: Game four of a five-game series at Kodak, Tenn., is tonight at 7:05.

Pitchers: Stephen Gonsalves (2-1, 4.91 ERA) is scheduled to start for the Lookouts, while the Smokies will make a game-day decision.
