A robber who held up the Cascades Motel on Ringgold Road this morning is the subject of a manhunt, East Ridge Police say.
Capt. Tim Mullinax said an officer happened to be driving by the motel just as the robbery call was dispatched. The officer pursued the suspect on Ringgold Road and through the Bachman Tubes before the fleeing car hit another vehicle and then turned over.
The suspect abandoned the money and handgun and ran away.
Mullinax said police have multiple leads on the suspect and the investigation is ongoing.
