The Chattanooga Lookouts sandwiched two four-run innings around a rain delay Saturday night in Birmingham, Ala., and held on for a 9-6 Southern League victory over the Barons that ended about 12:20 a.m. EDT.

The Lookouts will be back home today at AT&T Field to begin a five-game series against Jacksonville at 5:15 p.m. D.J. Baxendale (5-5, 3.49 ERA) is the scheduled starting pitcher for Chattanooga, which won four of five in Birmingham.

Travis Harrison’s three-run triple that was almost an inside-the-park home run capped the four-run second inning for the Lookouts (26-29). Stuart Turner began the outburst with a two-out double, and Levi Michael and Leonardo Reginatto singled with a Zach Granite walk in between.

But the Barons (23-32) had scored two in the first inning on a Sean O’Connell single and went back ahead, 5-4, in the bottom of the second on a two-run Jake Peter single and a fielding error.

In the fourth, though, Chattanooga got a one-out triple from Granite, a second RBI single from Reginatto, a Harrison single and Daniel Palka’s 12th home run of the season – a three-run shot – and Birmingham didn’t score again until a sacrifice fly in the eighth.

Granite was 2-for-3 with an RBI single in the seventh, Reginatto and Mitch Garver each was 2-for-4 and Harrison was 2-for-5 for the Lookouts. Omar Bencomo, their third pitcher, got the win with Trevor Hildenberger notching his seventh save.
