Fairyland Elementary honored

Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal and his Office of Student Achievement has announced that 187 Georgia public schools qualified as the highest performers or had the greatest gains in state schools in 2015. Fairyland Elementary School represented the Walker County School System on the list.

Results are based on the state’s College and Career Ready Performance Index. The highest performers are those that ranked at or above the 93rd percentile for their “achievement” score, while the greatest gainers ranked that way on the “progress” score; rankings in each case are based on an average over three years.

Fairyland Elementary School was awarded Gold status in the “Greatest Gains Award” category and Silver status in the “Highest Performing Award” category.
