Chattanooga State students shine at SkillsUSA

Students in the Tennessee College of Applied Technology at Chattanooga State Community College recently competed with hundreds of other state TCAT students in the annual Tennessee Postsecondary SkillsUSA competition.

During two days of competition, 49 TCAT Chattanooga students competed in 35 contests. They earned 12 gold, 11 silver and two bronze medals. Gold medal winners and their adviser will travel to Louisville, Ky., for the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference later this month.

TCAT Chattanooga also received the James D. King award for accumulating the highest number of points among TCATs that have an enrollment greater than 500 students.
