For the third consecutive day, Chattanooga’s ozone layer has been deemed unhealthy.

Chattanooga will be under a code orange health watch for Sunday, June 12. The air quality index is predicted to reach 105, according to the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Air Pollution Control Bureau.

Children, active adults and people with lung diseases including asthma should limit strenuous outdoor activities, according to a press release from the bureau.

Over half the population is at risk, and Chattanooga residents are being encouraged to reduce their use of fuel and energy. The bureau also recommends residents don’t burn anything.
