Muhammad Ali had feet of clay
After reading two letters to the editor in the Times Free Press recently, I realized I may not be the only person who did not consider Muhammad Ali as a hero. As a daughter of a West Point graduate, class of 1941, who fought in the European Theater in World War II, and the sister of a West Point graduate, class of 1964, who served as a first lieutenant in the Vietnam War (with his class having the unfortunate distinction of having the highest casualties), I followed with interest during this time the saga of Cassius Clay (Ali). I felt disgust then as I feel disgust now.
What is “the measure of a man,” Cassius Clay – feet of clay!
