Next meeting canceled

The Fort Oglethorpe City Council voted to cancel its June 27 meeting because the council will be in Savannah training that night.

City of Fort Oglethorpe Manager Ron Goulart is presenting lots of good news to the city.

The city’s property and casualty insurance rate is going down and change orders for several recent projects are also resulting in money saved.

“For property and casualty insurance the city pays $226,804,” said Goulart. “The new rate for property and casualty insurance is $186,303.”

However, Goulart said the city’s health insurance cost is going up, but the new rate is locked in until January 2018.
