Protective netting to be increased at AT&T Field

Baseball games at AT&T Field just got safer for the fans.

Chattanooga Lookouts president and general manager Rich Mozingo announced today that the protective netting behind home plate will be extended to the far end of each dugout.

“Fan safety is a very important issue to us,” Mozingo said. “By expanding the protective netting at AT&T Field, we not only increase the safety at our park, but the fan experience as well.”

Major League Baseball commissioner Rob Manfred recommended in December that all big-league clubs increase the netting at their respective ballparks to better protect fans from balls and bats that enter the stands during games. Minor League Baseball president & CEO Pat O’Conner has since endorsed Manfred’s recommendations.
