For her senior project at Sequoyah High School, Signal Mountain resident Aubrey Schiesser is collecting donations of items she plans to place in bags to give to families staying at the local Ronald McDonald House.
She stayed at RMH with her own family while her brother, who passed away when she was 11, was a patient at Erlanger.
“I wanted to give back to them what they gave to us,” Aubrey said as to why she decided to collect donations for the families staying at RMH.
She put a collection box at 517 Subs, where her mother is an employee, and has compiled a list of items needed at the house as well as things she thinks the families may need based on her own experience, but any donations will be accepted, she said.
Aubrey plans to pick up the box April 7. She will sort the items and place them into bags to be distributed to the 26 families staying in the house at that time.
She said she would like to continue to distribute bags of necessities to families at RMH and may hold other drives in the future.
Anyone who would like to continue to make donations for the bags or who would like more information can email Aubrey at aubrey10as@gmail.com.
