NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – MVP Ashtyn Baker scored 21 points and grabbed seven rebounds leading Northpoint Christian to its first Tennessee Division II-A championship with a 63-42 win Saturday over Knoxville Webb.

Jade Wells added 16 points, Lindsey Whiteside 13 and Lauren Gross 10 for Northside (31-2), which avenged both last year’s semifinal loss and a 2014 championship defeat to Webb (22-11).

Webb’s Micah Scheetz, an Alabama-Birmingham signee, fouled out with four points on 2 of 12 shooting.

Northpoint scored the first seven points as Webb missed its first five shots. The Lady Trojans made a 12-3 run later in the first half, going up 29-15 on Baker’s foul shot with 2:15 left in the second quarter. Northpoint then opened the second half with an 11-0 run that stretched its lead to 26.

Northpoint shot 58 percent from the floor while Webb hit 29 percent.

Freshman Kayleigh Hames led Webb with 11 points.
