For those who regularly attend the biweekly Catoosa County Commission’s meetings, it may have gotten easier to ensure your attendance. The Board of Commissioners recently approved a measure that moves the meeting on the first Tuesday of each month from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., aligning it with the time of the meeting held on the third Tuesday of each month.
Although there wasn’t much discussion at the public hearing before the commissioners’ meeting or before the vote for approval, the initiative was passed unanimously.
The first meeting to be affected by the time change will be on April 1.
The 9 a.m. meeting time has historically been somewhat difficult for citizens to be able to attend. Anyone who worked a typical 9-5 job often couldn’t make the meeting due to the early start time.
“I’ve been here for 13 years, and the meeting times have always been 9 and 6,” said Melissa Hannah, Catoosa’s County clerk.
