The seventh Road to Nightfall battle of the bands to determine which local artist is popular enough to headline the summertime concert series will conclude Saturday, March 26, with a final showdown at Revelry Room.

The competitors were selected during a series of preliminary rounds, which were held Friday and Saturday nights earlier this month at The Granfalloon. Saturday’s show will feature indie/prog rockers Nick Lutsko Band, roots ensemble Preston Parris Band, roots rockers High Meadows Communion, Americana artist Mendingwall and bluegrass quintet Caney Creek Company.

Unlike the earlier rounds, which were determined by popular vote, the finals will occur under the discerning eyes of a panel juried by music industry professionals, including Nashville concert promoter/producer Chris Cobb, local venue manager Mike Dougher, WUTC radio personality Richard Winham, Chattanooga Presents owner Carla Pritchard and Television guitarist and co-founder Richard Lloyd.

Each finalist has already received $500 for winning their respective preliminaries. Saturday night’s winner and runner-up will receive additional cash prizes of $1,500 and $500, respectively.

In addition, the winning band’s prize package includes 25 hours of recording time at The Soundry recording studio in Soddy-Daisy and a guaranteed headlining slot during this year’s Nightfall concert series, which takes place weekly in Miller Plaza from May 6 to Aug. 26.
