National wire services biased
As a daily subscriber to the TFP for over a decade it’s all I can do to maintain my subscription as I am assaulted daily by the biased “reporting” of The Associated Press and New York Times News Service.
I realize the paper can’t and shouldn’t need to have a staff writer report every national and international story. News services make sense. But aren’t there any that are less biased ones to at least balance the others?
Example: Tuesday’s Page One above-the-fold headline and sub-headline on the front page from the AP: “Obamacare’ drives down uninsured to record lows – Jump in coverage creates potential problem for GOP presidential candidates.” Some may call that a news story. I call it an opinion piece masquerading as news.
Are you living up to your motto: “To give the news impartially ” with an article like that?
I appreciate the unique balance of perspectives on your editorial pages. Can’t you find more balance in news services? I’d love to see a truly neutral service (“just the facts, ma’am”) or lacking that a Fox-News-like wire service to offset the CNN/MSNBC-like services you now use.

Light of justice needs to dim ISIS
When it comes to terrorism, there is no Maginot Line to stop the technology of the underground movement of ISIS as it continues to pop up out of the ground. Unlike North Korea, these caliphate cowboys do not need a tunnel, just a neighborhood connected by cyberspace to take orders or to invent their freelanced creativity from their scripted movements learned during this long war from 2001 to the present day.
The battlefield is a café, a marketplace, a subway stop or airport. Civilian targets have become the object of their paper target practice.
Although the war in Belgium is not a Flanders field but a Brussels battlefield defined by cancerous cells of internecine Islamic terrorists, it is still our duty “to take up our quarrel with the foe.” The torch that the dead throw is none other than the torch of liberty.
Nihilism knows no honor. We need the light of justice to cut through the darkness before evil devours the human soul and swallows the Middle East whole. We must not forget our strategic ignorance of history. We need to conceive a state where all children may be schooled for peace.

Goldberg spot on with GOP dilemma
Congratulations to the astute commentary by Jonah Goldberg on Thursday’s Free Press editorial page. His conclusion is that nominating Trump or not nominating Trump will wreck the Republican Party as he knows it. He suggests a reanimated Ronald Reagan or perhaps Batman as a savior.
This lifelong Democrat hereby suggests that from this point forward the “election season” be renamed the “joyful season,” but that it not be allowed to linger too long, as my sides are already about to split from laughing at the Republicans so hard.
