Support needed changes in local education
Education is a subject that is near and dear to me. Most importantly, empowering the youth of this city, state and nation through education is something I value. Unfortunately, schools may not be adequately preparing students well enough to succeed later in life. More specifically, schools may not be preparing students well enough for college.
It has been brought to the public’s attention that only a third of high school students in the U.S. are actually prepared to perform math and reading assignments at the college level after they graduate from high school. I would love to see more things being done to address this issue, especially here in Chattanooga. Reports show that Hamilton County schools have lower academic performance as opposed to other top-ranked counties such as Knox and Rutherford.
I look forward to advocating and pushing for significant change about this issue. It is my hope that many who share the same concern will attempt to advocate as well.
