HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) – The Latest on the case of Robert Stackowitz, who escaped from a Georgia prison work camp in 1968 and was finally caught in Connecticut on Monday (all times local):

Georgia officials will review the case of a man who escaped from a prison work camp in 1968 and was finally caught in Connecticut this week.

A spokesman for the Georgia Board of Pardons and Paroles says the board will examine Robert Stackowitz’s case upon his return to Georgia in a few weeks. His lawyer plans to ask the board for a pardon and prison sentence commutation.

The 71-year-old Stackowitz was arrested Monday at his home in Sherman, Connecticut. He escaped 48 years ago from a prison work camp in Carrolton, Georgia, where he was two years into a 17-year sentence for robbery.
