Letter carriers’ drive is Saturday
This year our food drive is May 14. We ask the public to help with this worthy cause. You can help by placing nonperishable foods either in or at your mailbox for your mail carrier to pick up that day. All donations are distributed locally, and you will help the replenishment of the food banks. This is your chance to help a local charity, the needy and perhaps a friend.
The National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) Food Drive is the result of a tradition of community service by letter carriers over the years. The carriers who go into every neighborhood, in every town six days a week, have always been involved when something needs to be done – whether it’s collecting funds for a charity like MDA, assisting the American Red Cross during time of disaster, rescuing victims of fires, crimes and other mishaps, or watching over the elderly through the Carrier Alert Program.
Letter carriers are the most trusted federal employees. We see our customers at their homes or workplace every day. Our food drive benefits all local communities. From bags full to just one item, it all helps. Please help us make a difference.
