Sunset on the Pond starts up this season May 21. The summer series is held each Saturday from 6-10 p.m.

At the first event, Rock Skool will play rockabilly, bluegrass and country music on a stage set up beside the Rossville Duck Pond. Belly dancers will also perform.

“We do this to get the community together,” said Rossville Downtown Development Authority’s Andie Sellers. “It’s a free family-friendly event. They cleaned out the duck pond and treated it and it looks amazing.”

There will be inflatables for children and a big monster truck, she said, and a raffle will take place.

Sunset on the Pond T-shirts as well as hot dogs, barbecue, cupcakes and cookies will be available for purchase.

The vendor fee is $15 with a table provided. Anyone interested in being a vendor should contact Sellers at 706-419-8343.

“Any money we receive from vendor frees and the raffle will go to [Rossville Recreation Director] Carthell Rogers,” she said. “He pays for uniforms for kids that can’t afford it.”
