Former Clemson defensive end Kevin Dodd was a relative unknown in his first three seasons with the Tigers, compiling 21 tackles in 24 games as a reserve.
Then last season happened.
The 6-foot-5, 277-pounder from Taylors, S.C., became visible to everyone, racking up 62 tackles, 24 tackles for loss and 12.5 sacks for a team that won its first 14 games before losing a 45-40 thriller to Alabama in the national championship game.
Late last month, Dodd benefited from his meteoric rise when he was selected as an outside linebacker by the Tennessee Titans with the second pick in the second round of the NFL draft. He was a guest this week on “Press Row” on Chattanooga’s ESPN 105.1 FM.
