Turning to God our only chance
Our nation, by all reasonable accounts, is in dire straits. Peace and prosperity, once expected to continue from generation to generation, can no longer be taken for granted. Terrorist attacks and other acts of violence are becoming increasingly common. Our laws reflect the standards of God’s holy word less today than most any other period of American history.
A great turning to almighty God is the only recourse for such a people. There is nothing our government can do to solve the problem; sin is the primary problem. Our intransigence, self-reliance, pride and unbelief will be our downfall unless God grants us the grace of repentance.
When a nation reaches such a level of decadence as our own, there is but one thing to do. It is incumbent upon all who know and obey God’s word to intercede on behalf of this great land. A nascent movement is slowly growing. Concerned Americans are beginning to turn to God and seek him. Let us fan the flame; let us join the work already in progress. Perhaps God will pour out grace and mercy that surpass the evil in this land. Perhaps his compassion is not exhausted yet.
