Two people were injured hours apart in separate drive-by shootings Sunday, Chattanooga police said.

Police were still investigating an attack reported at 7:46 p.m. in the 200 block of West 38th St.

Police spokesman Victor Miller said officers arrived to find a male who had been shot in the arm. Miller said the wound was not life-threatening and the man was taken by ambulance to the hospital.

The victim was identified as Anthony Sherard, 26. Police are following leads about a possible suspect vehicle, Miller said.

Police couldn’t say whether that attack was related to a drive-by earlier in the day.

Dispatchers received a call about that incident at 12:33 p.m. Police found Darius Hurd, 22, in the 1100 block of Moss Street. His wound was not life-threatening, police said in a news release.

A possible suspect vehicle has been identified as a white crossover SUV, the release stated.

Both shootings remain under investigation, and anyone with information regarding either incident is encouraged to call police at 423-698-2525.
