“An outdoor dining experience… together we make a difference” is the theme for the first-ever Longest Table fundraiser being held Thursday, Oct. 6. Organizers in downtown Ringgold will merge 17 long tables to form a 190-foot-long special dining experience from 6-8 p.m., and tickets are going fast, they say.

Dinner will be served to a maximum 184 guests in the center of Nashville Street in front of the Catoosa County Courthouse. Kudzu Interiors, of Ringgold, is designing table décor to add even more ambiance to the evening, intertwining fresh-cut fall flowers, linens, crystal, lace and burlap for an elegant country look. Family collections reflecting home and community will adorn the “longest table” as well, said Kudzu Interiors owner Melodie Church.

“I was honored to be included in the design of the table for the Longest Table,” she said. “The challenge is to create an atmosphere of elegance and formality onto the main street of our small town.”

Local school jazz bands will add to the mood.

“We are excited and honored to be a part of this first… The Longest Table,” said Farm to Fork owner Hugh Harris, who is catering the event.
