East Ridge police found a hit-and-run suspect inside a McDonald’s and arrested him after finding a gun, drugs and cash.
The Chattanooga Police Department was checking a hit-and-run suspect vehicle at a BB&T bank when a black male suspect ran away.
The suspect, Marquelle Alexander Rhodes, ran into a McDonald’s bathroom with a bulging backpack, but when police found him inside the McDonald’s, the backpack was empty.
Security footage led police to the bathroom where a search revealed a large box containing a loaded Taurus .45 automatic handgun, more than 2.3 ounces of marijuana, multiple Xanax and MDMA tablets and more than $600 in cash.
Rhodes was arrested on multiple charges including possession of drugs for resale and possession of a firearm.
