UPDATE: Police identify woman's body found on Old Cleveland Pike in Ooltewah

UPDATE: Police have identified the body of a woman found in Ooltewah on Wednesday morning.

Tiffany Paige Flerl, 21, was found dead on the side of the road on the 8000 block of Old Cleveland Pike, according to a Chattanooga Police Department news release.

Detectives and the Hamilton County Medical Examiner responded to the scene. There did not appear to be any visible signs of trauma, according to the release.

The body was taken to the medical examiner's office to determine the cause of death. The Violent Crime Bureau is also investigating the case.

ORIGINAL STORY: Chattanooga police are investigating a situation in which a woman's body was found on Old Cleveland Pike in Ooltewah Wednesday morning.

CPD spokesman Rob Simmons said the woman appeared to be in her early 20s and that no identification was found on her person.

Investigators do not believe the woman's body had been there for a long time.
