Thanks to Bryan, kind eclipse host

Many thanks to Dr. Steven Livesay and the staff and students of Bryan College for their kindness and hospitality in hosting an eclipse viewing for the general public on Monday.

There was no charge for parking and plenty of helpful student guides to point the way to the grassy field in front of Rudd Auditorium, where bottled water was available at a very nominal fee along with free Moon Pies.

At 1 and 1:30 p.m., presentations on the science of the eclipse and biblical references about it were offered by Bryan faculty members. Two solar telescopes were mounted outside the arena for public use along with a screen providing NASA’s livestream of the eclipse. The event was well attended by an appreciative crowd.

Thanks also to the Times Free Press for your extensive coverage about viewing locations and the many in-depth features leading up to this historical event we were privileged to share together.
