Authorities in Alabama have charged a man with electronic solicitation of a child, according to a sheriff’s office news release.
Ronald Troy Bodine, 52, of Horton, was arrested in a joint operation conducted Wednesday by the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, DeKalb County Drug and Major Crimes Unit and Geraldine Police Department. Bodine attempted to contact a 14-year-old girl through Facebook, according to authorities.
The sheriff’s office got involved with the case when an adult family member contacted the office. Bodine was arrested when he came to Geraldine thinking he was meeting the girl, according to the news release.
“Because this family member contacted us on this case and the assistance of Geraldine Police Department and DeKalb County Drug and Major Crimes Unit, we were able to make this arrest. We are glad that we were able to get Bodine off the internet and off the street,” said Sheriff Jimmy Harris.
