Parkridge Bone & Joint adds Sumida

Mark S. Sumida, a board-certified orthopedic surgeon, has joined the Parkridge Bone & Joint physician practice.

Dr. Sumida will continue seeing patients at his existing office in Hixson, which will create another access point to specialized orthopedic services offered by Parkridge Bone & Joint. Sumida joins Martin Redish, MD, and Ben Plahtinsky, PA-C, in treating conditions of the musculoskeletal system.

“Parkridge Bone & Joint is a great fit for me and my patients,” Dr. Sumida said.

Sumida earned his medical degree from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine and served a general surgery internship and orthopedic surgery residency at the Chattanooga unit of the University of Tennessee College of Medicine. He further enhanced his surgical expertise with a fellowship in foot and ankle surgery at Duke University Medical Center.
