Hamilton County authorities arrest man wanted on attempted murder charge

Chattanooga police announced a man wanted for attempted first-degree murder has been arrested.

The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office took Dominique Bonds, 28, into custody today, police spokeswoman Elisa Myzal said in an email. He was on the sheriff's office "12 Most Wanted" list.

Bonds also faces charges of aggravated assault and possessing a firearm with intent to go armed.

Authorities have been seeking Bonds in connection to the shooting of Jamaal Thomas, 26, his roommate. Police said the two argued prior to the early morning shooting on June 20, which occured in the 2200 block of E. 26 Street.

Thomas suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Times Free Press records show Bonds has an arrest records dating back to 2010. He has been charged multiple times for criminal trespass, domestic assault and child abuse and neglect.
