Body of Sale Creek woman found at Cummins Falls identified

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Authorities in Tennessee say they’ve found a body at a state park, but it isn’t that of a woman reported missing after flash flooding stranded about 40 people near a waterfall.

News outlets report the body was found Thursday at Cummins Falls State Park by a search team looking for the missing 73-year-old woman, whose name hasn’t been released.

Tennessee Bureau of Investigation spokeswoman Susan Niland identified the body on Friday as that of 45-year-old Lisa Michelle Hillian of Sale Creek, Tennessee.

Jackson County Sheriff Marty Hinson said it’s not clear if Niland was part of the group caught in the flash flooding Wednesday.

Jackson County Emergency Management Director Keith Bean says crews were using kayaks, helicopters and drones on Friday to search for the 73-year-old woman.
