The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office reported the names of the two fatalities in Sunday evening’s crash on Mahan Gap Road.
Matthew Webb, 20, died at the scene, while Michael Tinsley, 27, died later at a local hospital. Both were from Bradley County and their next of kin had been notified, according to a Monday afternoon press release.
The crash occurred when a Toyota 4Runner collided with a Chevrolet Yukon. Webb was driving the 4Runner and was its only occupant, while the Yukon had four passengers total, including Tinsley, who was driving.
Two of the four passengers in the Yukon were children who were properly restrained in car seats and did not receive any injuries. They were sent to a hospital as a precaution.
