Rhea County authorities arrested two suspects in a robbery from the Deli Mart/Gulf Station in Evensville that happened around 2 a.m. today.
A white man who had his face covered entered the store while the clerks were in the back room, according to a statement from the Rhea County Sheriff’ Mike Neal. “A clerk saw the male subject getting into a drawer and attempted to confront him.”
At that point, the man ran from the store, Neal said.
Officers reviewed security camera footage and found that another man was waiting in a car and helped the man who fled the store to escape, the sheriff said.
About $200 was taken from the store cash register.
