Chattanooga FC opening May 13 in New Orleans

The Chattanooga Football Club announced its 2017 men's schedule Thursday, and it features six regular-season home matches and the club's annual appearance in the U.S. Open Cup.

The club lost a 4-0 friendly to Major League Soccer newcomer Atlanta United FC on Feb. 11 in Atlanta's first-ever match. Chattanooga FC used a patchwork lineup put together in a month, so the roster assembled by the season's first match will be considerably different.

CFC starts the season by visiting the New Orleans Jesters on May 13. This season's schedule is expected to include at least one international friendly.

The local club was 14-3-3 in 2016, falling to the Sonoma County Sol in the National Premier Soccer League national semifinals.

CFC general manager Sean McDaniel said in a news release that every home match will be included in the "season pass" for fans, after years of the pass covering only matches against NPSL competition.
