Scenes from five operas will be presented by students in the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Opera program on Friday, March 31, at 7:30 p.m. in the UTC Fine Arts Center, 752 Vine St.
The program will feature excerpts from "Carmen," "The Mother of Us All," "Der Rosenkavalier," "The Secret Garden" and "The Last Five Years."
UTC students performing in the program are Kayla Petrille, Sara Hrivnak, Adrienne Benson, Laura Childers, Jordan Alexander and Ben Brooks.
The program is directed by Perry Ward, assistant professor of music at UTC, with musical preparation by Mark Lasater. Costumes are provided by Brenda Schwab of Chattanooga State Community College
General admission is $10 and students $7. Tickets are available through the Box Office of the Department of Performing Arts, 423-425-4269.
