The Chattanooga Lookouts haven’t always played when they’ve wanted in recent days due to the multitude of spring showers.
When the Lookouts have played, they’ve produced some desired results.
Chattanooga was scheduled to play a pair of seven-inning games Saturday night at AT&T Field, but rain arrived late in the afternoon and resulted in a two-hour delay that forced the Lookouts and Blue Wahoos to play just one nine-inning contest. The Lookouts won 5-1 before an announced crowd of 2,859 for their fifth consecutive victory.
Nick Gordon’s two-out single to right field in the second inning got the Lookouts (15-13) going in their latest triumph, as LaMonte Wade and Travis Harrison scored to put the hosts up 2-0. Edgar Corcino’s double to center in the fourth inning scored Tanner English and Engelb Vielma to make it 4-0, and Corcino scored on a Jonathan Rodriguez single to left for a five-run bulge.
Chattanooga starting pitcher Matt Tracy allowed just one run on three hits in six innings, while Luke Bard and Mason Melotakis combined for three innings of hitless relief.
