Just a little more travel fraud
Many news watchers on Sunday immediately wondered if Vice President Mike Pence’s abrupt exit from the San Francisco 49ers-Indianapolis Colts game meant our president had started World War III.
Our relief, when we learned the real reason – kneeling football players – was short-lived.
“I left today’s game because @POTUS [President Trump] and I will not dignify any event that disrespects our soldiers, our Flag, or our National Anthem,” the former governor of Indiana soon after wrote on Twitter.
In just minutes, however, President Trump revealed it was pre-planned when he tweeted he had instructed the VP to leave the game if players took a knee for the national anthem. If you’ve decided to never believe the president’s tweets, here’s another hint: The press pool accompanying Pence was told by Pence staffers to stay in their vans because “there may be an early departure from the game.”
